Emma Westwood is the author of a super-duper-fun book called Monster Movies. She chats about all the monsters she has loved over the years. She discusses The Thing, The Host, Killer Shews and everything in-between. She even attempts my incredibly silly monster trivia. Enjoy Don E. FauntleroyMarch 02, 2009 12:52 AM PST
Don E. Fauntleroy is an acclaimed cinematographer who has worked with some of the greatest director for all time. He is a member of the exclusive American Society of Cinematographers . He has also directed several sci-fi original and my favorite Steven Seagal film of all time! Anthony I. GinnaneFebruary 26, 2009 02:30 AM PST
When it comes to Australian genera films there are only two names Brian Trenchard Smith and Anthony I. Ginnane. While Brian Trenchard Smith was Australia's answer to Michael Bay, Antony Giannane was our Roger Corman. It may sounds strange but during the 70's and 80's Australian "mainstream" film where art movie and out fringe/underground cinema was genre movies. Bloody fantastic ones at that. Ginnane is one of Australian most prolific producers. He is currently the President of the Screen Producers Association of Australian and was gracious enough to give me 20 minutes of his time. Brian Trenchard Smith: Part 1February 15, 2009 05:19 AM PST
When it comes to Australian genera movies they're is not one name, but three: BRIAN TRENCHARD SMITH! If you don't know who he is, he is like an Australian Michael Bay. Well, that's only if you take Bay's sense of humor and turn it into Smith's budget, and Bay's budget and turn it into Smith sense of humor. Thankfully they do have the same tenacious love of blowing stuff up! Brian Trenchard Smith is one of my favorite filmmakers, his stuff is smart, witty and fun. He is also one heck of a nice guy. I must apologies in advance. I haven't done a lot of interviews, let a lot within someone I respect so much. When I was doing it I was literately shacking and sweating on the other side of the phone. Thankfully Brian more than makes up for it. In part One will look at his early life and influences. We go into details of his tv work such as FOR VALOR, THE STUNT MEN, DEATH CHEATERS, THE WORLD OF KUNG FU, KUNG FU KILLERS and THE LOVE EPIDEMIC. I will post part 2 in a few weeks. |
