If you don't know who he is, he is like an Australian Michael Bay. Well, that's only if you take Bay's sense of humor and turn it into Smith's budget, and Bay's budget and turn it into Smith sense of humor. Thankfully they do have the same tenacious love of blowing stuff up! Brian Trenchard Smith is one of my favorite filmmakers, his stuff is smart, witty and fun. He is also one heck of a nice guy.
